New Developments Team |

The New Developments Team is involved in preparing a range of area-based Studies, Action Plans and Strategies, including undertaking the necessary public and other consultations and identifying and securing appropriate sources of funding for their implementation. It also co-ordinates the preparation and implementation of individual environmental improvement and other regeneration-based improvement schemes, both within the context of the above and on a ‘one-off’ basis. The Team is now also involved in taking forward Development Plan Documents and Supplementary Planning Documents to formal adoption as part of the City’s Local Development Framework.
The Team also provides initial feasibility, assessment and other advice on new developments, ranging from housing to major industrial site development, particularly those proposed on Council owned land. With regard to proposed housing development on Council owned land the Team co-ordinates the preparation of planning and urban design requirements for inclusion in Sales Particulars and co-ordinates the assessment of developer’s submissions as part of the developer selection process. Support, advice and input are also provided to regeneration and development initiatives such as the Sunniside Partnership, dealing with the regeneration of the Sunniside area of the City Centre.
