The Core Strategy is one of the documents that forms the Local Development Framework and sets out the vision and objectives for the development of the City and includes the amount of and broad locations for future housing and employment use. Policies which relate to specific sites (for example housing policies) will be set out in future Development Plan Documents, and conform with the broad locations set out in the Core Strategy. Once adopted, all other Development Plan Documents must conform with the Core Strategy. Core Strategy - Preferred Option (2007 - 2008) The responses received from the Core Strategy - Issues and Options (2005 - 2006) consultation have been used to establish a "preferred" option for the development of the City. Public Consultation into the Core Strategy Preferred Options ended on the 10th February 2008.
