• Remove unauthorised advertisements in breach of the Advertisement Regulations.  If an advertisement is displayed without consent the Council may seek its removal through the Magistrates Court.
  
• Control unauthorised fly posting.  The Council has the power to obliterate or remove unauthorised fly posting.  If a person is found to be responsible for the display of such posters they can be prosecuted.
  
• Make private land owners tidy land considered to be adversely affecting the amenity of a neighbourhood.
  
• Protect Listed Buildings from unauthorised works through Listed Building Enforcement Notices.
  
• Protect buildings and Trees in Conservation Areas from unauthorised development of works.
  
• Protect trees which are the subject of Tree Preservation Orders from unauthorised works.
