Wider equality in the city

Sunderland City Council drives and co-ordinates work across the city to ensure we have strong and confident communities, offer equality of opportunity to all and recognise and value the diverse needs and contributions of all sectors of our community. To achieve these aims the council works with a range of partners through the structures of the Sunderland Partnership. This approach helps to ensure that the city is a place where people from all backgrounds are respected, valued and celebrated and where strong and positive relationships can develop.
