Equality data collection and monitoring

Equality is not about treating everyone the same. Instead we need to make sure that we respond to different needs wherever we can to allow everyone to have an equal chance to benefit and contribute. In order to check if this is happening, the council is installing equality data collection and monitoring systems where possible and appropriate to do so. This will allow us to gather information on such things as take up or satisfaction in relation to the services and functions we provide and for different groups in the city. Managers will be responsible for the collection and analysis of this information. Where gaps or trends occur between different groups, this will prompt the need to identify the cause and carry out actions to try to address them.
