Vehicles displaying a disabled blue badge may park free of charge without time limit in any of the on and off street parking bays except at the following:

• St. Mary's: normal charges apply
• Sunniside Multi-Storey: normal charges apply
• Bridges Multi-Storey: normal charges apply
• Bridges Roof Top: normal charges apply
• Prince Street/South Street: private permit holders only

Designated disabled parking bays are available at all city centre car parks. 
The Bridges has a Shopmobility centre which can be accessed via the Bridges Rooftop Car Park.  The service is available 7 days a week on a booking system (2 forms of identification needed to become a member).  For further information telephone 0191 514 3337.

A new online Blue Badge parking bay map was launched in July 2006.  Developed by Directgov, this will help you locate Blue Badge Scheme parking bays in 64 towns and cities across the UK, including Sunderland. You can view it using the link www.direct.gov.uk/BlueBadgemap
