WELLNESS NOW OFFERING CHILDREN'S FITNESS CLASSES

The Wellness service is continuously expanding and now provides activities for children and young people.  From January 2008 Sunderland Wellness Centres will be offering a range of children’s and young people’s fitness classes across the City.

They are programmed to allow children and young people to access them after school and at weekends.  The sessions are led by fully qualified fitness instructors who are insured and CRB checked, and are designed to improve stamina, strength, suppleness, co-ordination and balance, but the main ingredient is FUN!

The sessions cover all age groups from 4–7 years, 8–12 years and 13–16 years and activities are appropriate for each age group.  Children’s fitness sessions will also be running during the summer holidays.  For further details and enrolment for both summer holiday and September programmes, contact your local Sunderland Wellness Centres.  Children will be required to complete a Children's Fitness Programme Application and Consent Form (PDF Document pdf 53.15kb)

NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN WELLNESS CENTRES

Young people over the age of 11 can now access Wellness Centres without their parents also being members.  They will have access to the facilities from 4.00pm onwards Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday with special availability during school holidays.  Appropriate training programmes will be tailored to individuals by a fully qualified Wellness instructor.
