• Residents can access a state-of-the-art wellness facility at Sunderland Aquatic Centre.

• Sunderland currently has 6 Wellness Centres located across the city at the following locations:
• Bunny Hill
• Crowtree (to close when Sunderland Aquatic Centre opens)
• Houghton
• Puma
• Seaburn
• Washington

• The services within the Wellness Centres are delivered in partnership between Sunderland City Council and Sunderland Teaching Primary Care Trust Health Development Unit.

• Built around a central atrium, the open plan two storey Wellness Centre contains:
• Split level Wellness Centre
• Over 100 pieces of technogym Equipment (71 cardio and 29 resistance)
• Extended range of free weights
• 2 group training studios
• Over 80 hours per week of group training classes planned at facility

The following activities are currently unique to Sunderland Aquatic Centre:

• Excite med line (equipment suitable for sports testing and supporting rehab patients)
• Flexibility range
• Pure strength range
• Kenisis Studio
• Cardio Cycling Studio
• Easyline Equipment

• The Wellness Centre will provide Physical Exercise facilities for patrons. Disabled changing and W.C. facilities are available within the centre, with an education room for specialised consultation and physical training.
