Before the ceremony, the Registrar will interview you both in private, to obtain
the particulars to be entered in the register. These include your fathers'
full names and occupations. Please ensure you are at the venue at least 5
minutes prior to your appointment time.
After you are married you will be asked to sign the entry which has been made
in the register. Please read it carefully before signing as you will be
testifying to its accuracy. By law you must provide two witnesses to your
marriage usually over the age of sixteen years, who will also be required to
sign the register.
The Register Office can seat up to 70 guests. Two readings can be
included in the ceremony which can be read by a guest or the Superintendent
Registrar. Music can be a special part of your wedding ceremony, and you
may bring your own CD or tape with you. Please remember, however, that
there must be no religious content to any part of the ceremony.
Video cameras will be allowed during the ceremony at the discretion of the
Superintendent Registrar. There will be an opportunity for photographs to
be taken at the end of the marriage ceremony, but we do request that guests
refrain from using their cameras during the ceremony.
