Supporting People Welcome to Sunderland’s Supporting People Programme. Sunderland’s Vision The Supporting People Programme aims to deliver high quality, cost effective, housing-related support services (such as sheltered housing, homeless supported accommodation) for a range of identified vulnerable people. The programme will raise the quality of housing related support services in Sunderland and will enable vulnerable people to maintain a home in their own community. This will help people to keep independence and choice in their lives, promoting social inclusion and minimising crisis interventions, such as hospital admissions. Supporting People is a working partnership of National Government, Local Government, Service Users and Support Agencies and, where possible, all Stakeholders will have an opportunity to help with the continuous development of the programme.
