The Welfare Rights Service has offices based around the city. You can call

The Cornhill Centre Tel: (0191) 553 5303 The above office covers the following wards: Castletown, Central, Colliery, Fulwell, Hendon, Pallion, St Michaels, St Peters, Southwick, Thorneholm, Town End Farm. Thorney Close Action & Enterprise Centre Tel: (0191) 553 5922 The above office covers the following wards: Grindon, Ryhope, St Chads, Silksworth, South Hylton, Thorney Close. The Hetton Centre Tel: (0191) 553 6791 The above office covers the following wards: Hetton, Eppleton, Houghton, Shiney Row. The Galleries Health Centre Tel: (0191) 566 2420 The above office covers the following wards: Washington East, North, South and West. The offices are open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. An appointment is necessary at all of the offices. You can also contact us through the Customer Service Centre at: 86 Ryhope Road Tel: (0191) 520 5051 The Welfare Rights Service also provides sessions for carers at Sunderland Carers' Centre.
