  • Home care
  • Day care
  • Short breaks
  • equipment
  • supported accommodation
  • Residential Care
  • Intermediate Care
  • advice on welfare rights
  • Direct payments
  • support at home through assistive technology

We will assess your needs and arrange whatever services are necessary.

Some of the services provided are subject to a charge; we will look at your financial circumstances and work out if you need to pay for the service you receive.

Health, Housing and Adult Services has developed links with many voluntary organisations in the city who help to support and care for potentially vulnerable people. These range from locally-based national organisations to specific interest groups.

Health, Housing and Adult Services has also developed a volunteering programme to complement the services we provide.

Another way that vulnerable people will be supported to live independently in Sunderland is through the Supporting People  programme. The programme promotes housing-related services, which are cost effective, reliable and complement existing care services.
